Flower Power!

One of my monthly highlights has to be Book Club – P calls us the Wine Club with a Book Problem! We're more than that – a group of good friends, with lots in common! Some have husbands and children, some have just husbands, a couple are Grandmas - but we have a lot more in common than just PMS! This year, we've had theme evenings, from PJ night, to Christmas in July, and last night was no exception. Because (we thought) spring had sprung, our theme was FLOWER POWER, Hippy Days. Well, the warm weather we've been experiencing did not play along, it was cold and wet, but that did not detract from a fabulous evening. I can't remember when last I laughed so much – our tummies were aching!

The food was warm, the wine cold and conversation – priceless! Looking forward to our annual getaway in October! We're off to Parys for a night. Staying at the Le Grand Chateau Hotel. www.safarinow.com/LeGrandChateauHotel.co.za. We'll be entertained by Elsabe Zietsman at Ruby's http://www.rubysparys.co.za/events.htm After the show we'll be pub crawling, enjoying the local pub diners and dives! Parys are already waiting for us, talking about the "Jo'burg Book Club Girls" who are destined to cause a stir in the otherwise quiet little town. Sunday morning we'll be wandering through the town, digging and delving in the antique shops sure to find some special keepsake to take home! It's going to be a week-end to remember and I can't wait!

What fun you are having at the * Book Club *...makes me think about things I miss with living here...even if I was invited to things like this, the language barrier is where I would lose it all...I understand a little...but not to have a conversation nor to listen to 5 or more people speaking at once. One on One is hard enough for me

Spending time with the "club" sounds like a blast. Perhaps I should find one to join myself.

Oh I adore our bookclub too - I will post next week or so about Tuesday night's. And a night away sounds like a great idea for a bookclub. I think we need to do that!
