Wonderful!

Tried desparately to get some photographs loaded - no such luck. Programme kept failing. I don't know why, but I am frustrated.

It's been really wonderful. Claire (my god-daughter) and I went for a long walk in the mist yesterday afternoon. I so wanted to share the images, but will post them when I get back. It was beautiful. Quiet and serene. The mist was creeping in and out of the huge trees and at the bottom of the garden we saw some horses grazing. Truly like something out of a story book! We took a walk up the hill and looked at the houses on the hilltops in the mist with their little lights flickering! By the time we got home, it was getting dark. My shoes were wet and it was time for a steaming coffee! I had cooked dinner and we ended off the day with warm feelings in our hearts! Mum went to bed and said that it was her best birthday ever!

Had a quiet day today. Been at home pottering around. Claire and Mum have gone off to the hairdressers now and tonight we are going to Primi Piatta in Hillcrest for dinner. Tomorrow the rest of the family arrive and I have to think of an excuse as to why I am preparing a big dinner on Saturday - Mum's cousin is coming through and I don't want her to know about it ... yet!

I'm glad I planned this. Mum has aged a lot. She has become very doddery and is losing her self-confidence. She asks the same questions over and over and often looks confused. 70 is not ancient and my Dad certainly is very much on the ball. I guess for some it's different ... sad really!
