Politics and Week days!

Our political situation appears to be in a shambles of late. I don't like to get involved and certainly don't want to turn my ordinary little blog into a political platform, but my word, it's playing so on my mind, I want to record my feelings right now. The trouble with our mining sector is a frightening one. It frightens me to think that should the mines be forced to close down, and the government steps in to save the day, we'd have nationlisation - and that's just what we don't want! With all due respect, our government is so corrupt - there seems to be so much mismanagement of funds, our health service is crumbling - I hate to think that our beautiful country could turn into another 3rd world nightmare. Old Julius Malema seems to open his mouth and change feet, and yet, the illiterate thousands will continue to support him. The scary thing is, that these same people, would rather NOT vote, than change their vote which results in the ANC remaining in power, and really, after 18 years, they have not produced the results they promised :( In saying all of this, it's Wednesday already - the week is half way through. I received a text message today, reminding me to arrange our Christmas parties - where has this year gone? Having Stacey's Dad for dinner tonight. Makes me thankful that although our marriage did not work, we can still sit around a table together and enjoy a meal. There are not many families who can say this - and I am greatful that we remain friends and not put pressure on our daughter or make her take sides :) And that's my week - so far! Busy at work, engagement party on Friday night, 70th Birthday party on Saturday - perhaps Sunday will be a quiet one! I do hope your week is going well!

The political situation is alarming and this whole mining thing is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. As for where the year went. Who knows, but Christmas is just more than 100 days away

OH my goodness, oh my goodness....this was just like ME!! I think the same way about OUR country. Third World indeed. And it's time we stand up and say, enough is enough.

I'm mad as hell and can't take it any longer....what movie did that quote come from, I can't remember. But, it's how I feel!!

You and me...we both live on opposite sides of the world, but still feel the corruption of our separate governments.

Don't get too busy and forget about blogging when you can.

As someone who has left South Africa ( only go on holiday to see my family now ) I dont want to comment on the political situation as I get everyone jumping down my throat...everyone wants to prove to me that things are good and what do I know etc etc...so refreshing to read your blog...

I know it,s not the same but I feel like that with English politics. I just feel like we,re becoming more privatized !!!! I have read about what's going on in South Africa and I hope it gets better.
