It's not over yet!

Boy, was I glad to get home last night and RELAX!  Had an early night and feel much better now that I am rested.  Isn't it strange how things feel so much worse when you're tired!

John was released  with no bail - know why?  THEY COULD NOT FIND A BAIL RECEIPT BOOK BETWEEN THE TWO POLICE STATIONS!  Can you imagine that!  Fortunately a Captain at Honeydew came out and asked Cindy why she was still battling.  When she told him that they had been shunted from pillar to post and that there was no receipt book, he freaked, and signed docs for John to be released without bail as (and I quote) "That is bull sh*t - there HAS to be a receipt book!"  It's such a long story and they only got home after 15h00 yesterday afternoon.  Poor John looked exhausted.  He had been put in a cell with 4 other men - 2 for shoplifting, 1 for having an unliscensed fire-arm and he didn't know about the other one.  He says one of the worst things about it, was that he had no watch, no phone and had no idea as to what the time was.  Not any of the police officers had watches either - he found that difficult.

He is appearing in court today and they will set a trial date, unless the ADT Reaction officer drops the charges in which case this horrible story will just go away.  Another thing that amazes me is that they arrested him purely on the word of the reaction officer.  At NO point, was he given the opportunity to give his side of the story or make a statement.  That scares me!

It's just so third world!  Oh well!  I guess this week-end has come just in time.  I have taken leave tomorrow and we are going to Durban.  Alexandra has her matric farewell (Prom) and we are going to the cocktail party for parents before the dinner.  Not only will we have the opportunity to share this special night with her, but it gives me a chance to see my folks!  I haven't seen them in 4  months and I am looking forward to catching up.  It's about a 5 hour drive, so we will leave early tomorrow morning and come home on Sunday!
Another bonus (for Philip this time!) is that his beloved Sharks are playing against The Brumbies (I THINK!) in the Super 14 rugby competition in Durban, so him, Alexandra and Stacey are going to watch the game on Saturday.  I am looking forward to relaxing with Mum and having tea and tiny cakes!

Oh good! Having no statement sounds a little strange! Hope it all goes well today in court.

This case will be chucked out so quickly and I still hope they send ADT to hell. I used to have ADT but gor horrible service from them. They called me one evening while we were out and said that our alarm was going off. I said that we weren't home, but that I will go immediately. Then they wanted to know if it was still needed for them to react. DUH! Off cause, what do you think. What if there is somebody in my house. Needless to say we got there and no reaction vehicle. Eventually I investigated and found nothing. False alarm. Went inside. 30 min later I called them to find out where their vehicle was. Not on its way yet. I exploded. Had a meeting with one of the managers (insisted that he comes to my house and not his office) and got no ecceptable explaination. Cancelled my contract immediately.

Enjoy Durban and tell P to have a blast at the rugby.

I hope the security company drops charges. Otherwise I would hope there would be a drop in there business in the local area! Word of mouth is a wonderful thing.

Enjoy your day off and your weekend away.

I see your comment on Elaine's therapy - will do a post on it. Would love to watch it being done but I have the kiddies in the afternoon so can't go. She has explained it all to me, as did the physio when I phoned to book the appt. - and then looked it up on Google to see what it was all about. Her jaw was in a spasm so was referred to this physio - she's had 2 treatments and may need a third after her next ortho visit - but she comes home completely pain free and totally, totally relaxed!! I would love to try it for my back - since looking after Connor (who is rather heavy!) I am battling a bit with my back. Have a fabulous weekend!
