Urban Legend?

Hmmmmm!  I don't know how true this is, but I received an email earlier on today, warning all Pretoria and Johannesburg residents about a severe hail and thunderstorm on its way inland.  According to the email, the satellite images show that this could be the worst storm ever experienced in Gauteng.  They have advised that people stay in doors or leave work early as the storm could hit at any time after 14h00 and they are not sure how long it will last!  It comes from a Climatoligist who suggests we check the local radio stations for updates.  As I sit at my desk and look out over Sandton, I do see quite a lot of cloud around, but it certainly does NOT look as though it's going to storm!  I have also checked the Weather Report on New24 and couldn't find any warnings!  Come to think of it ... I seem to remember a warning like this once before and nothing came of it - I wonder ... ... ...

9.30 pm - and still waiting !!
Thanks for your comments earlier this morning - and yay - Elaine had a wonderful day!! Came home beaming - tired but elated - "loves it" and everyone is "so cool" !! Phew! I am relieved! Is your daughter at Univ of Joburg too? Even though E is not actually studying for the next 6 months she still has to register - so it looks like I am going to have to stand in that long long long queue !!! I did it two years ago when she was in Sweden and forgot to take water with me - it took hours - and I was so tired and thirsty afterwards!!

What a beautiful shot. Is that taken from your window at home? I love the low lying clouds.

Did the storm ever come?
