Emotional Day!

Two of my friends are going for surgery today!

Zelda is donating one of her kidney's to her sister - they were both adopted as babies and there is NO blood connection between them and yet their tissue match was almost perfect!  She has just been wheeled into theatre at the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital in Cape Town.  She will be in theartre for 3 hours.  Her sister Carin, will go in at 09h00 to receive the kidney.  This operation has been a long time coming. It has been postponed before and a lot of emotion and many tears have gone under the bridge.  I think that Zelda is one of the bravest people I know.  She is a single mother and is sacrificing so much, to give her sister life!  Please remember her in your prayers today!  Please pray for a successful operation, that Carin's body accepts the kidney, for healing and for strength.

On Saturday night we celebrated our dear friend Tania's 40th birthday.  Tania has had a rough year.  At the end of 2007 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She underwent a mastectomy and for the better part of 2008 underwent chemo therapy and radiation.  Just before our holiday in Mauritius, she was told that she is officially in remission.  Today, on her 40th birthday, she is going into hospital in Bloemfontein for a hysterectomy. Tania has gone through so much and remains positive and full of smiles.  Please pray for our brave, beautiful friend!
