Fun Week-end!

Our Supper Club - P and I - back middle!

Brittaney and Storm waiting for the Yummy food!

Saying good bye to the Belgian YAP's!

First of all we bade farewell to the YAP's last night, who after spending two HECTIC week-ends in SA (with lots and LOTS of braai's) flew home to Germany, Austria and Belgium! Philip, Stacey and I were at the airport to see them off. Things were a little rushed and we did not have a chance to take a photograph with them all as some left at 18h10, one at 20h45 and the last 3 at 23h45!

Our Portuguese Cooking Competition was an absolute HOOT! And guess what? We won the prize - two lovely bottles of Portuguese wine which I am saving for our next Mediterranean dinner! Next month its at our house and we're doing Turkish! How's that for different. Have to start getting our thinking caps on for that one!

For those of you that are interested, herewith the winning recipe!

Allatenjan (excuse the spelling, its my own rendition!)

Portuguese Chourico and Peppers
1.6 kg's chourico sausage sliced
3 1/2 green bell peppers, seeded and chopped
2 1/2 sweet onions peeled and chopped
1 can tomato puree (not paste)
420 ml red wine
420 ml water
40g chopped garlic
About 20 calamat olives, pipped and sliced
Combine all ingredients except olives in a slow cookers. Stir so that all are evenly distributed. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Uncover pot and cook for additional 2 hours after adding the olives. This will allow some of the liquid to evaportate. Serve with FRESH Portuguese rolls.
Our Prize!

We had a super evening - to top it all, Philip's beloved Sharks won the semi-final. The rugby final will be held in Durban in two weeks time. Now the trick is to try and get tickets!
