Talking about chocolate chilli ...

... try this!
  • 1/3 cup of butter
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 100 g slab of Bournville Dark Chocolate
  • 3 tblsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Pinch of salt

Slowly melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Add all dry ingredients except salt. Once melted, smooth and shiny, add the cream and the salt. Be careful that the mixture does not split, so do melt together slowly.

Serve on the side, with a rare piece of beef fillet, a strawberry and rocket salad and baked potatoe! To die for! I made this dish on Friday night when we had friends around - it was a big hit and I will definitely make it again.

Was a very "chocolately" week-end. Took Rob's three girls to a birthday party on Saturday afternoon. The theme was "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" - not only were there dozens of chocolate fountains, but Wonka Bars and Willy Wonka's Gobstoppers!! Charlies Nerd Strips AND a candy floss machine. Was afraid to ask, but I am sure Sinead must have been dancing on the ceiling at bed time - poor Rob! I wonder if he will ever let me take them to a party again! Hee, hee! It's fun being the bad aunt!
