Christmas in July!

This event seems to have taken off big time in SA. Even our local shopping centre was displaying Xmas trees and playing Xmas carols. We had a stunning evening on Saturday night at the Stocks! The meal was split between 7 couples. Starting off with Snacks and drinks in the bar, we proceeded to the dining room, the table had been set in red and gold with gold crackers. Presents were under the Xmas tree and Tony even had a sleigh all in lights put across the white wall in front of his house. It was cold and drizzling, so almost felt like a white Xmas without the snow!! We began our meal with a delicious butternut soup, followed by roast turkey, roast leg of lamb, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, brusselsprouts done with chestnuts and oranges, rice and gravy. There were Xmas mince pies, ice-cream and chocolate sauce and chocolates for dessert. Once Santa had been to visit and we had all received our pressies, we retired back to the pub, where the party began!

Eventually at 02h30 Philip and I decided it was time to go home and boy, were we both exhausted on Sunday! Lazy afternoon and an early night - just wish I wasn't so FROT with 'flu again. I really need to get rid of this cold.
