Interesting!

Blogging again!! I have just spent 15 minutes chatting to one of my colleagues about a very interesting thing! She has completed her advanced diving course and went on a "shark dive" at Sodwana in December. What an interesting experience. She played me a video clip of her and her "dive buddies" watching 3 female ragged toothed sharks swimming around them in a small reef. The sound was amazing - dead quiet, just the sound of bubbles and people breathing, plankton floating around and these 3 "ladies" swimming peacefully! It was incredible. She tells me that the sharks go to Sodwana in preparation for the birth of their young from December to March. During this time they do not eat much and are not in the least bit interested in the divers, although you have to keep quite still as they swim away should one move too quickly. Because they attack from the bottom up, they really don't bother with anyone.

She has some amazing photographs of "Nemo's" amongst the anenomes and coral. She has convinced me to do a diving course while we're in Mauritius - not snorkling, although that is also fun. Philip and I were talking about it last night. I think I am going to give it a go, although I believe I will need a note from my Dr because of the asthma. Oooooh! Getting excited now!
