Back to the Grindstone ...

... after a lovely long week-end. Besides the fact that I almost lost my voice - sounded very gruff, but it didn't go away completely - sorry Philip!!

We had an interesting afternoon yesterday - a friend of ours is an "aeronautical sparky" (electrician) as his wife puts it. He took us to Lanseria Airport yesterday afternoon to have a look at some of the private planes and also to see his hangar where he is working on some helicopters. How funny to see how the "other half" live - people landing in their private jets from the long week-end away, guys doing flight checks on their little planes before going off on short flights and such interesting aeroplanes! There was one that Stacey reckoned looked like a Blue Marlin! It had such a pointy nose and there was electrical wiring going from wing, to nose to wing, to tail, to wing! Like a huge diamond of wiring. This plane is used to detect diamonds, or iron in the ground - very weird - I have never seen anything like it before!

We ended off the afternoon at the "Home of the Chicken Pie" for a quiet libation and one of the best Lemon Meringue pies I have ever tasted!

Wishing you all a very happy week - only 4 days for us, yesterday was a holidy!! YEAH!
