Baby Sitting!

I haven't babysat a little, little person in a very long time!  I can't say that I was enthusiastic about looking after little Cora last night as I don't know her at all, and wasn't sure that she would be happy and settle with a strange lady!  All of 15 months, I expected her to be clingly to her Mummy and feel very strange.  Mummy had come to Johannesburg from Durban to see Linkin Park, and on their arrival, was told that their friends couldn't put them up anymore, and they had no accomodation, and no baby sitter.  So, Philip and I offered to step in and welcomed them into our home!

Toddling through our front door, came this dear little girl, with the tiniest of pigtails in her hair, all dressed up in pink.  She gave me the sweetest smile and I was smitten!  Miss Molly came bounding over to her, and I expected tears from fright, but all we got were giggles - "wawa" she said and gave her hug!

Our afternoon turned into evening!  She played and chatted, wandered around and looked for birds! Ate dinner, had a lovely bubble bath, pretty pink jamies, sat on my lap while she had her "dudu bottie"and promptly fell asleep, clutching my necklace with her chubby pink fingers!  I was in heaven, she was in heaven!  No tears, no fuss!  An absolute pleasure.  We had taken her with us to see some friends and no-one could believe that she didn't know us.  My heart took the biggest leap when she put her little arms up to ME to pick her up!  What an angel!

Thank you Kirsty and Grant for letting us look after your little girl.  She is an absolute pleasure and I'd have her ANYTIME!

There is nothing better than little chubby fingers. Sounds like you had a lovely day/evening with your little friend.
