I spent a long time on Sunday afternoon talking to my nieces! They were fascinated to hear stories about their Dad (my younger brother) and what we got up to when we were children! They couldn't believe that we had no TV in those days, but enjoyed listening to how we passed the time. I told them about our family holidays and how Colin (my middle brother) put live chickens into Rob's bath! They giggled and laughed and soaked up every word!
Sinead (the baby, and our little violinist!) asked what I was going to do when I got old!
Me: I'm going to retire
Sinead: What will you do then?
Me: Well, hopefully I'll be a Grandma and I can look after my granchildren.
Sinead: You don't have to wait until then!
Me: Really? How's that?
Sinead: You've got ME!!
She threw her arms around my neck and gave me a big hug!

How wonderful - children really do come out with 'obvious' in life don't they? Thank you, too, for my birthday wishes, much appreciated. Judyx
Once, I was talking to Wonder Boy about his Granddaddy one day retiring. He asked when I was going to retire and I told him Grandmothers didn't get to retire.
She is a cutie. I'm glad you are enjoying time with extended family.
