Interesting young man!

P and I have a German student staying with us as the moment and what an interesting young man he is!  At 23 years of age, he has almost completed his degree as a Biologist and he is extremely well travelled!  He visited us on the YAP (Young Ambassadors Programme run by the International 41 Club) programme about 3 years ago and loved South Africa so much, he decided to come back for 3 months.  He has just spent 7 weeks in Brazil and then went to Melbourne in Australia to spend Christmas and New Year with his sister who was holidaying there!

I could have sat for hours last night and listened to his stories from Brazil, how he met a man who spent the first 14 years of his life living with a primitive tribe in the jungle to how he caught Pirrahna fish in the Amazon - very tasty indeed he tells us!

I have a feeling you might be hearing more about Dag in the next couple of weeks!

Its part of the German tradition to travel and work around the world it really amazes me.
I met a DR here who did 4 weeks practical in Pretoria hospital, my friend Steffi's daughter taught for free at a school in CT for 10 months, I know of young girls who did my class or children of mom's that do my class, all their kids go away for a while - life experiences...I think its fantastic...sounds like you got a very interesting fellow there...

I would love to have been so well traveled. It really matures a person. What fun for you to have him there.

It must be interesting taking in somebody like that and hearing about their life and culture. Perhaps its something everybody should try to do once their kids are out the house.
