St Patrick's Day!

Although I am of Scottish descent, I LOVE the Irish – and can tell a pretty good Irish joke too if I try! LOL! l adore their accent and Irish dancing has to be my favorite!

Today is the national day of Ireland and is celebrated world wide. It falls during the Christian season of Lent. Due to this the consumption of meat was waived and the traditional meal was Irish bacon and cabbage. St Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland and is probably one of the most widely known figures. Despite being so well known, his life remains a mystery! It has been said that he banished all snakes from Ireland, but this is false and it the product of years of exaggerated story telling!

To all my Irish friends out there, may I wish you a Happy St Patrick’s day and “Beannachtai na Feile Padraig” – that’s the Gaelic way of wishing you ALL THE LUCK OF THE IRISH!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too - and I did enjoy the history lesson as well!! Take care and have a good day - I'm busy trying to get everything done before we leave at about 11ish. Why is it more hardwork going away then staying at home? LOL Judith
