Guess who's turning 70!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest Mother in the world!  "Nana" will be turning 70 tomorrow and I am flying to Durban at 6.00 am to be with her!  It's a secret and I know that she is disappointed because she thinks I am not coming!  Philip and Stacey will drive up on Friday, and we are having a dinner party for her on Saturday night.  Still working on our menu, but have sort of settled on the following:

Smoked Salmon with cream cheese Roulade

Roast Leg of Lamb with mint sauce

Butter Basted Chickens

Roast Potatoes

Asparagus and Halloumi Cheese Salad

Steamed Green Beans with lemon and almonds

Caramalised Baby Carrots

Trifle

Birthday Cake

Hmmm!  Sounds good to me!  It all depends of course on whether or not I get the right ingredients once I get to Durban.  We are doing the table in baby blue, white and silver.  I need to go home tonight and wrap the pressies and get my packing done.  Have to be up and at the airport by 5.00 am at least - talk about an early day.  Colin (my brother) will fetch me from the airport and take me straight to Mum and Dad!  Oh my word, I am nervous - I do hope everything goes well!  It will be the first time since relocating that my mother will have all her children and grandchildren together.  The picture above was taken at my father's 70th in July last year.
