just how sad today was going to be when I wrote my blog earlier this morning. I don't know if you know where Investec is situated, but its on the corner of Rivonia Road and Grayston Drive - probably one of the busiest intersections in Johannesburg, especially during peak hour traffic. Diagonally across from us is Sandown High School and opposite that is McDonalds. This morning, one of my ex colleagues, Syd (he moved to Deutsche Bank 2 months ago), dropped his daughter off outside our building, and she walked across the road to school. She is 18 and in matric. She was knocked over and killed by a PUTCO bus - he did not even stop. Someone raced after him and brought him back. Passengers on the bus said they told him not to drive so fast and he has been arrested for culpable homicide - but that is not going to bring Kammi back! Can you imagine the horror!?
My heart goes out to Syd and his wife - their youngest child and only daughter. We are devestated.
