Gauteng crime stats were released yesterday by our Police Department. Murder rate has dropped, but there has been a spike in house robberies and hijackings. Our minister of Safety and Security is concerned - I should damn well hope so!
But how's this for infuriating?
Yesterday morning, on the M1, police were chasing two robbers in a Toyota motor car. They decided in their wisdom to do a U turn onto the highway, into oncoming traffic, to get away from the cops. RIGHT! They smashed into a Renault and all 8 occupants in the Renault were killed - the robbers?? Critically injured and TAKEN TO THE MILLPARK HOSPITAL for treatment - I ask you with tears in my eyes. Why the hell must we as tax payers pay for these complete idiots to receive the best trauma care? It absolutely turns my stomach!
