Let's go Fishing!

There are a WHOLE lot of things needed when one goes fishing!  Starting with a good place to prepare and relax after a long day in the sun!

A sweet little Fisherman's cottage in the bushveld,  A good place to rest, a
 perfect place to prepare!

Of course all the preparations are no good unless there's a good dam nearby, and Roodeplaat Dam is a pretty good place to start!  The water Hyacinth can prove to be a problem, especially when the wind blows and it floats across your line, but that just adds to the thrill of getting it right!

Fishing line and sinkers, tracers and hooks!  Check each one carefully ...
neat little knots and we're almost ready to go!

Little bottles of tasty liquids to lure the fish, tempting them to take a bite - some of them sweet and some of them sour! Be careful to put the right combinations together, fish are cullinary experts don't forget!

Magic Mielies are a must!  Complimenting each titbit!  It must be their lucky day!

Look at the colours!  Luminous pink - shines brightly under the water, giving the fish light! We wouldn't want them losing their way!  No idea if they have a good sense of smell, but we do know they can see!  Don't want to leave out any detail!

A willing assistant is always handy to have!  I wonder how she feels about putting some squiggly worms on the end of that hook?

Strike!  It's important to get the hook, line and sinker as far out as possible! We all know that deeper waters, yield bigger fish!

Nothing caught, but hey - we had fun and tired, smiling Fisherman are always happy ones!  In case you're wondering, our Fisherman was sporting a moustache for MOVEMBER!  In support of cancer survivors and sufferers men should always grow a moustache in the month of November!

Fishing isn’t a matter of life and death….
It’s much more important.

I'm not really into fishing. Just don't have the patience for it. I will do it for 15 or 20 minutes and then I want to move on.

Although no fish was served that day, I’m impressed with your preparations. Maybe it’s time to try to wander around the lake and go farther to catch them. How about getting on a boat? I’m sure it’s a bit more effective! I wish you guys the best of luck! =)
